Surgical Coordinator

Surgical Coordinator – Dry eye is one of the most common complaints in any eye clinic.  Some causes are insufficient tear production, inflammation, poor tear quality with rapid tear evaporation, inadequate eyelid closure, occupational (reading for extended periods), and environmental causes (dry air, sleeping under a fan). Treatment in general consists of topical lubrication and lifestyle modification, but some cases require treatment of the inflammation and/or insertion of punctal plugs to keep the tears on the surfaces of the eyes for longer periods.
